Onyx Asphalt & Concrete USA Inc. is fully insured and registered to conduct business in Florida and multiple states nationwide. Florida does not currently issue a separate state asphalt and concrete contractor license for this type of work anymore. We maintain the applicable registrations, insurance coverage, permits, and project requirements necessary for the work we perform.

Yes. Onyx provides asphalt and concrete services for commercial properties, residential communities, HOAs, municipalities, property managers, general contractors, retail centers, industrial properties, and individual homeowners. We handle projects ranging from small repairs to complete parking lots, roadways, and large-scale commercial projects.

The right material depends on the location, intended use, budget, drainage, appearance, and expected traffic. Asphalt is generally more economical for large areas, installs quickly, and can be repaired or resurfaced efficiently. Concrete typically costs more initially but provides greater rigidity and is often preferred for sidewalks, curbs, gutters, dumpster pads, ADA ramps, and other high-use areas. Because Onyx performs both asphalt and concrete work, we can recommend the most appropriate solution instead of pushing only one material.

A properly installed and maintained asphalt surface can commonly last 15 to 25 years. Its lifespan depends heavily on the stability of the base, drainage, asphalt thickness, traffic volume, Florida’s heat and weather, and ongoing maintenance. Proper installation, crack repair, sealcoating, and timely repairs can significantly extend the pavement’s useful life.

Most asphalt surfaces in Florida should be evaluated for sealcoating approximately every two to three years. The actual schedule depends on traffic, sun exposure, drainage, weather conditions, and the current condition of the pavement. Sealcoating helps protect asphalt from oxidation, ultraviolet exposure, water intrusion, automotive fluids, and premature deterioration.

Asphalt milling removes a specified depth of the existing pavement using specialized equipment. The area is then cleaned, prepared, and resurfaced with new hot-mix asphalt. Milling can help remove damaged pavement, restore proper elevations, improve drainage, and create a smooth transition around curbs, gutters, sidewalks, and adjoining surfaces.

Onyx recommends keeping vehicles off freshly paved or sealcoated surfaces for a minimum of 24 hours after completion. When the customer’s schedule allows, additional curing time is even better. Actual reopening times may vary based on temperature, humidity, weather, material, traffic requirements, and project conditions.

Yes. Onyx can coordinate phased construction, multiple mobilizations, weekend work, nighttime work, traffic-control plans, and temporary access arrangements to minimize disruption. We work with property managers, tenants, business owners, and project representatives to develop a schedule that keeps the property as safe and accessible as possible.
